We don’t see things as they are,
we see them as we are.
The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery.
There is always more mystery.
How wrong it is for a woman to expect the man
to build the world she wants,
rather than to create it herself.
Merry Christmas to all Ebenezers Scrooge
Ghost of Christmas Past
Aged appearance of childlike figure, innocent, dressed in white, the ghost of the past – presents events that led to this today’s “humbug” Ebenezer Scrooge. Emanating head, that presents wisdom, shows us why Scrooge became so detached from earthly, common joys and love. Younger Scrooge possessed the ability to love and he was a person still in touch with his fellow human beings.
His own desire for material pleasure, prevented him from sharing himself with others. And ultimately he destroyed his love for Belle and became a lonely recluse.
Both images are white – for innocence, and with glowing head. But that is where all similarity stops. I imagine this image like a cloud, with greater density inside and various colors inside. Its dress would be white and shiny, and you could enter into its interior. Inside it would have cinnamon and lemon smell, and warmth that would be pleasant to touch. Some parts would have cold elements shaped like spheres, not too large, but just enough to feel comfortable when you touch warm parts.
Ghost of Christmas Present
Christmas should stimulate within people a concern for the wants and needs of others, and give us joy while fulfilling desires of others.
That’s why Christmas dinner at Bob Cratchit’s house with his family is essential for this part of the story.
Ghost of Christmas Present, represents empathy that enables Scrooge to see and feel hardship of Bob’s family daily toil.
This feast is time of sharing one’s wealth with the others. And it has no meaning without loved ones.
Different authors presented this ghost similarly, with green dress and all that food for the feast.
I would imagine it differently. It would have long curly hair, where some strings of candies would be attached.
His gown would be made of green velvet with large engraved golden buttons. Also, his pants would have nice vine color and it would spread smell like hot bread.
This creature should belong to everyone, so we should recognize it by the smell, color, and we should wish to be with it.
Ghost of Christmas Future
This Ghost is phantom, dressed in dark robe, menacing figure who does not speak at all. His arm has sharp bony fingers with long nails. We cannot say if it is male or female. It is dark figure, awakening fear in Scrooge. He cannot see if that on the bed is he, or someone else. This figure looks like the ghost that I imagined as a child.
It would hold a boony crook. Its eyes would be all dark with no sclera. It would be all black and you could not see anything personal about it, except robe would be made of heavy black fabric and it wouldn’t walk, rather fly. It has strong, disturbing powers, hard to resist, but not impossible.
Effort and good will is necessary, and faith into human good to surmount its powers.
two wolfs
One evening, an old Cherokee tells his grandson that inside all people, a battle goes on between two wolves. One wolf is negativity: anger, sadness, stress, contempt, disgust, fear, embarrassment, guilt, shame, and hate. The other is positivity: joy, gratitude, serenity, interest, hope, pride, amusement, inspiration, awe, and above all, love.
The grandson thinks about this for a minute, then asks his grandfather, “Well, which wolf wins?”
The grandfather replies, “The one you feed.”
BALTHASAR sings
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more,
Men were deceivers ever,
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never.
Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into Hey, nonny nonny.
Sing no more ditties, sing no mo,
Of dumps so dull and heavy.
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leavy.
Then sigh not so, but let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into Hey, nonny nonny
Notes de La Mode
If you have a gust of fashion, you should come to see us at the Hotel Metropol this Saturday evening for exceptional catwalk!
Our talented designers group ‘The Little Blue Bird’, is performing a catwalk for the next season, with a Parisien breath.
Our designers Nicolina Demidowich and John Asten with distinct feeling for urban style, are bringing fresh look with a lot of cute details. Their performance is full of novelties, daring colors, silky, velvety materials with accent on hand made embroidery details.
These designers might not wow you, but we do have something that would leave you breathless. Surprise of the evening can leave you with a timeless memory of this event. (Please note: if we were to reveal it, it wouldn’t be surprise.)
Then there is our Hatwoman, Anica Holstein, whose charming bonnets, hats and caps are lovely accessory to whole looks of a trendy persona. It could leave you thinking that you are original Parisian and that you are able to defeat the force of gravity and triviality.
And if all these new models aren’t enough, we have our award-winning magic designer, famous Leora Lonek, who has learned to combine the vintage style with the simple perfection of the modern look. These combined designs are being heralded as ‘new breeze’ for the next generation of designers to master.
Finally, ‘The Little Blue Bird’ does not leave the audience with a big languish for Paris, we may have created an experience that is remarkably similar, one that is completely new for a fashion scene of 21st century.
See you there!
Lime trees
It was a pleasant afternoon; sun was still on the horizon. I could smell lime leaves and the air smelled like in my home town. I could almost touch it. My grandfather sent me to buy some mineral water. I hated it because I had to bring several bottles, and it was very heavy for a six-year-old.
But the stroll to the shop with empty bottles was quite pleasant (I had to deposit those in the store). Everything was nice. Freedom, like an adult, nice weather, trees, and as I walked looking onto the buildings and the pavement, I realized that maybe behind that corner is a secret street, where I can turn and come to my home.
You know, my parents left me to live with my grandparents, in another town (around 300 km away).
So, that idea came to me, and as I was passing nice small town buildings, I was checking if this is a secret street that leads to my home. No, that’s not the one. That street has to be green with flowers and lime trees. My home town is just like that. But the smell in the air was the same. I passed a nice shop with toys and wooden horses in it. They even had a Snow White. Probably, behind that corner is the street. No, but there is an apple store. I regularly bought the golden apples that my grandparents liked the most. In the shop was Mirna, my friend, we played school games almost every day.
And in that moment, I noticed that I was passing next to the street that was at a steep angle to the main street. There were some apartment buildings and a yard for kids to play. I should check that one.
